The seminary
program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a four-year
religious education program for youth. In seminary, hundreds of thousands of
students and their teachers meet, each weekday during the school year, to study
the Holy Scriptures including: The Bible (Old Testament and New Testament), the Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants.
Currently there
are over 390,000 seminary students in over 170 countries in the world. Seminary
classes are starting, in various countries, in virtually every month of the
year. All high school youth ages 14-18, whether members of the LDS faith or
not, are invited to participate in this wonderful program. The objective of seminary is to help youth understand and rely on the teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families, and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven.
